What is brown rice protein?
Brown rice protein isolate is exactly what the name implies. It’s a low-carb, low-fat, animal-free, gluten-free protein source which is enzymatically separated from the carbohydrate compounds in brown rice so that you’re left with nothing but high-quality plant-based protein.
Rice protein, particularly from brown rice, is hypoallergenic, full of beneficial antioxidants, and it has unique peptides shown to help reduce or prevent weight gain (compared to white rice and soy). Studies also confirm that it produces no detectable difference in recovery abilities, lean mass building, or strength production compared to whey protein.
Who should use it?
For anyone on a strictly plant-based diet, brown rice protein is ideal, especially when combined with pea protein (as found in RawFusion, along with artichoke protein), but it’s also a fantastic, nutritionally balanced protein source for everyone in need of increased dietary protein.
It’s particularly good for those with dietary restrictions and allergies, and if you happen to find that traditional milk-based proteins like whey and casein give you unwanted bloating and gas, the plant-based, hypoallergenic qualities of brown rice protein isolate will go a long way to making you feel better as well as fulfilling your protein needs.
As mentioned above, brown rice protein also helps fight off oxidative stress, and while its protein is great for building and maintaining lean muscle tissue, it’s also been shown to help with weight-reduction diets.
When and how should it be used?
As with any supplemental protein source, brown rice protein isolate can be used throughout the day as needed to help ensure that you meet your dietary protein needs. While it’s a great source of high-quality protein and vital amino acids, it works best when combined with pea protein isolate to achieve a superior amino acid profile. RawFusion protein and RawFusion Complete (meal replacement) deliver the ideal blend of both protein sources as well as artichoke protein and other plant-based nutrients.
