What is forskolin?
Forskolin is an herbal compound derived from the roots of Coleus Forskohlii and is utilized in only extract form. It’s got a long history of use in Ayurvedic medicines but is most popular now for its fat-burning attributes, although it offers several other health benefits.
Who should use it?
Forskolin has become extremely popular for its fat-burning and body-shaping effects, and it’s also highly regarded for its positive effect on testosterone levels, so it’s ideal for athletes looking to decrease their body fat, increase lean muscle tissue, and take advantage of all the benefits of healthy hormone levels.
Potential health benefits:
- Increases cyclic AMP (cAMP) for improved fat loss
- Supports improved free testosterone levels (up to 33%) for increased lean muscle mass
- Promotes strong bone health
- Increases thermogenesis for improved weight loss
- Mild appetite suppressing effects for easier dieting and positive effects on body fat
When and how should it be used?
Since it’s most often part of a synergistic formula in weight-loss or testosterone-boosting supplements, forskolin is best taken in split dosages or as recommended on the product’s label. Taken on its own, forskolin is absorbed best on an empty stomach before meals, but when used in forskolin-based formulas, it’s sometimes better taken with meals because of other ingredients. When in doubt, follow the instructions on whatever combination product you’re using.
