Skills and Strength Development
What does “The Eagle” recommend in order to pack your body with power? Sharpen your skills every day, just as he’s always done. Drill, drill, drill your skills. Spar with partners who outweigh you, even heavyweights. For functional strength, emphasize bodyweight exercises, like weighted parallel bar dips, chin-ups, push-ups, lifting boulders, running hills and climbing ropes. These bodyweight exercises keep you strong and fit, without bulking up. Your shoulders and triceps get a lot of work on the punching bag, while the core gets a lot of functional training with grappling, wrestling, and sparring.

“A typical day is running for half an hour in the morning, sparring after lunch, and alternating between grappling and striking work, in the evenings. I do a lot of parallel bar dips, chin-ups and push-ups during these sessions.”
